In a Word document, it is possible to insert the current date in a document. However, if that document is viewed, say, one month later then the date on that day is inserted, not the date the document was created.

What I'm trying to do is to set up a template for a letterhead which will insert the current date into the letter. However, once the letter has been created and saved under a unique name, I do not want the inserted date to be changed. I'm sure it must be possible to do this but I cannot seem to find out how.

TIA

Richard

Try inserting the CreateDate instead. This will store the date the file was saved (created).

Any future changes to the letter will change the date when you save it however.

Cheers,
Dave
