Just wondering if someone could explain to me what the following means (this is taken from a question on a prep test).

"You manually configure a static ip address and subnet mask of 192.168.5.10/24"

I'm not familiar with what the /24 represents? Could someone explain?

Thanks

Number of bits representing the network portion of the address.
255.255.255.0
11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000
8 bits on.8 bits on.8 bits on = /24
