Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to do an upgrade to exchange 2k3?

I know it is going to depend on Hardware, but our mail stores are around 80Gb in total.

Does anyone know roughly how long this is going to take?

Cheers

Chris

On a decently spec'd server I'd expect you to get that done in a couple of hours and even worst case scenario should get done in 9 hours.

Post back successes or failures - not many people doing in places recently.

in place upgrade of a 40Gb mail store took 90 minutes including service pack

Cheers for that Pat Stone,

We have a slight corruption in a mailstore so are moving users to a new one before the upgrade.

Did you find any glitches in the process, or we everything pretty sraight forward? Did you notice any performance improvments?

Thanks

everything was straight forward, for once a MS upgrade thats works , you need to download a hot fix to install after you upgrade to exc2k, other wise you will get an error appling the service pack

It was fairly quick and painless, didn't seem to do much to the info stores themselves.

Got a question about did I want to replace files that are older than current. Remember this was a bit of a gotcha on the upgrade from 5.5 so I said no to all. Seems to have gone on fine.

Did get that error applying the service pack, will have to see if it actually means anything.

Total time was about 60 mins, and 4 hours testing!
