informix DB access thorugh VB6.0

Can anybody tell me that
How can I acces the Informix Database under Unix from my VB Application.

Actually i have already dowloaded the Informix ODBC driver ...but for configuring the data source it asks the Service Name under Unix and sqlhosys file...

Can anybody tell me this what these two parameters are for.


Or if any body has a better idea of access the Infformix Database under Unix from the VB Platform ??

You need to fill out 7 fields in the ODBC DSN setup for the Informix driver: Server Name, Host Name, Service, Protocol, Database, Username, Password

Your UNIX system admin or Informix DBA should know.
