Does anyone know if the CISCO2620 can be used for a Firewall? We currently have 2 in place.

We are a small company with virtually no IT staff. (2 people) Neither of us are Cisco Savvy. We have just upgraded one of our servers from NTS4.0SP6 running MSP2.0 to 2003 Server Standard. This machine services our internet connectivity. At this point we have yet to lock down our internet connectivity (logging, filtering, authentication, etc...) and we need to do this ASAP. Any suggestions on what we should do?

Thanks!!!!

Yes you can set up your Cisco 2620 as a firewall, but it's not that robust. You need a PIX if you want something robust. But if your just wanting to filter traffic and have a basic firewall the 2620 can do it. I'd suggest that you hire a contractor with a little more experience in this area. No insult intended, but if you want to keep your network secure, you need a professional to set it up for you. Just my opinion though.
