Hi, i have 2 machines running windows2003 on the same network. Machine A contains a web enviroment with iis6, no active directory

machine 2 contains a folder i want to be able to search from a web page in iis. I'm trying to search using asp code of:
set objUtil = server.createObject("ixsso.Util")
set objQuery = server.createObject("ixsso.Query")

Now i'm trying to set up the folder for the indexing service so the ASP script can work. on Machine B i made the folder a share with its default folder name as the share name "edgar-download2". So on machine A i can view and open the share. Now to create the catalog of the share items..... so in Computer Management in the 'web' catalog directory there is a directory called \\MachineB\edgar-download2 and include in catalog is set to 'yes' (due to the check-mark of 'add network share address automatically' in the web properties under tracking)

Then i stopped the indexing service and started it again.

so is that all i need to do? can i start creating the ASP script to search through the folder tree and vaious txt files to display the info based on query?

//I'd hate to start creating the asp scripts and trying to debug them when i'm not sure the servers are set up correctly.
thanks
