Indexing Service Ignores some extensions

Dear all,

For some reason indexing service seems to only index files that are text-based in one way or another. For example it does not index jpg files despite the fact that the file name itself can still be indexed?

Is this the normal behaviour for the service? If so how can I set it to index these extensions.
