I'm running Indesign on a 400mhz G4 cube with 320mb RAM. It seems a bit sluggish. Obviously a new dual-proc. mac with tons of RAM would be best, but does anyone know if my mac is just not powerful enough to handle Indesign?
If you are also a Quark user, you will notice InDesign's sluggishness. Run both programs and then see the significant difference in RAM usage in the 'about this computer' info box.
The basic rule of thumb is that your computer is never powerful enough to run your favorite software. I have run ID on a lesser G3 computer.
To speed things up:
*Try lessening the screen display quality.
*Boot from OS9 as OSX requires more RAM.
