My server had (3) 9gig drives connected to a RAID controller using RAID5.

Using the RAID controller, I removed each of the 9gig drives, allowed the drive to rebuild, and continued till all three were upgraded to 32gig drives. Rebooted server and was going to NWADMIN to resize the partition, when a messge came up to do this via ConsoleONE.
I Selected the server, properties, media, and in the Media/devices, you can see the 80gigs, but no where can you do anything with it. I tried to create a new traditional volume, but consoleONE says it cannot find any space. Looking thru my book, but I'm lost.
Do you have to Delete something first? Don't want to loose data if can be helped. Can't even just create a new volume?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

No you do not need to delete anything but NetWare does not recognize raw free space. It needs to be part of a partition before you can do anything with volumes.

This was easier when I could use NWCONFIG...
In ConsoleONE, Traditional Partitions, will not allow me to increase the size. Says it cannot find any free space on any device.

you need to create another partition first before you can create the traditional volume

nwconfig is a bit of a pain for it.

you didnt need to reboot server for disks to register

nss is easier
