I want to widen a Field in a Table in an existing DB. Back in the old days this would mean writting code to read the current DB and re-write it to the new DB. Has this changed??? Looks like all I have to do in Access is just enlarge the field in the DB.

You can write code to change the size of the field but if you've just got the one database to work with then it's easier to just go into the Table Designer and change the definition.

You may have to fiddle with some forms and reports so that the full width of the field will be shown.

How are ya chucktr . . .

Basically other than design time you never really look at tables (users should not be allowed). Tables are viewed thru forms and other than setting [blue]Field Size[/blue], its here you'll set the physical to your liking . . .
