after i download a file the usage on my c drive shows that i have used up more of my hardrive.even if i delete the program without even installing it,send it to the recyle bin, empty the recycle bin,the c drive usage does not change.it still read's higher than it should.
does anyone have any idea's

Can you give actual figures and the source of them please (ie, what you are using to give you free space reading).

i am double clicking on my computer, then right clicking on the c drive then the properties tab.
if i bypass the recycle bin i don't have the problem.things delete from the recycle bin but the system does not seem to register the amount deleted.example if i downloaded a 100mb file the c drive register's an increase of 100mb.delete it to the recycle, then empty the recycle bin,the c drive does not come down that 100mb.

Press F5 to refresh whe viewing the C: drive. The solution is out there. [morning]

Could System Restore be "saving" files as you delete them?
