Happy Holidays All,

I installed an IPO500 V2 with 8.1.65. 2 analog trunks run into a combo card. All call go to a hunt group with 4 users. There are no issues with every day call handling.

Every day, close to every hour the 4 sets in the hunt group ring twice then nothing. If someone picks up they only hear dead air. The call display shows an incomming call and shows symbols, not #'s or characters, as CLID. I have put a butt set on both lines BEFORE the IPO and it did not ring when this ghost call occured. So I do not believe it to be nuisance call.

I have captured these ghost calls on system monitor and compaired them to regular calls. Line for line they are the same.

The IPO consists of 1 combo card and 1 8 digital station card.

Anyone heard of this or have any ideas?

Harley

Been mentioned many times, I would hazard a guess you are US based and the trunk provider isn't providing true analogue lines but some kind of converted lines, the equipment doing the conversion is sending out message waiting indication pulses and the system interprets those signals as a ring voltage :)

in Canada, same thing as far as telephony. I will double check if there is a message waiting dial tone and have the programming checked as well. thanks for the tip!
