Hey guys I am new to this Nortel platform I am working with a cs1000. I am having an issue where incoming calls are not been answered consistently by the pbx. I need to know the pbx answers an incoming call.

thanks!

What is the caller hearing when the call is not answered (continual ringing, busy, silence, telco greeting ... ) and what is expected? (ie should it be ringing a desk phone, or going to the receptionist or going to an auto attendant greeting etc ....)

Definitely more info needed for troubleshooting.

ok guys thanks for the speedy response. when the call is not answered is gives continue ring.

when the call is answered correctly it goes to auto attendant greeting, so it would appear as if auto attendant does not answer at times.

What kind of trunking do you have? You very well could have a dead trunk. Or you are out of voice mail ports at times.

I have isdn pri the carrier came yesterday and said that the circuits are clean but ld 60 lcnt show slips.

Check your clocking and make sure it is wired correctly and programmed correctly and tracking on the primary reference.

how do I check if I am clocking on the primary circuit?

It will say when you do the ssck 0 or ssck 1.

.ssck 0
ENBL
STANDBY
GROUP 1
SIDE 0
CLOCK CONTROLLER - LOCKED TO LOOP 2
PREF - 2
SREF - 3
AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL
NO ERROR
.

ssck 1
ENBL
CLOCK ACTIVE
GROUP 1
SIDE 1
CLOCK CONTROLLER - LOCKED TO LOOP 2
PREF - 2
SREF - 3
AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL
NO ERROR

Your clocking looks fine. Loop 18 is having some serious issues though. Those are slip deletions and aren't a good thing. Maybe disable the loop and then enable it and clear the counters in ld 60 with the rcnt command and see what it does.

Is there anything else I can check?

DTI TRK LOOP 18
TRSH CNT:
BPV -000
SLIPD -001
SLIPR -000
CRC -000
LOSFA -000
OS_BPV -000
OS_LOSFA-000
OS_YEL -000

as soon as I clear it the slips start again

If you have a CSU on the circuit some of them have statistics you can look at. Some times the CSU can cause the errors. If you have 2 loops that are identical and do the same thing you can swap the circuits and see if the trouble follows the circuit or stays on the loop.

could this be the result of a bad card?
