I have the pbx setup to show the number of the incoming phone call. I spoke with our provider ATT and they stated they are sending the name display along.

I wanted to know what Load to go into and how to verify the incoming caller name displays on the phone.

Right now it just shows the incoming phone number.

I always had problems when both CLID and CNID were sent to the PBX. We always just ask for CNID only (I believe the reasoning given is that just too much info (data) was being delivered with CNID...when the call was sent to the DN, the phone would get a short tone burst, the person being called would lift the handle to answer the call, and the call gets rejected. Is the the same issue you are having?

DCH IFC has to be NI2 - if this is the case, add NDS to RCAP in DCH and you shoudl get name also.

Caution: this will also send name and if ATT is not set up to recieve name they will reject the call. DCH will have to be disabled to add NDS so should be changed and tested after hours.

I will check the DCH IFC.

Thank you for the response.

galley,

The problem is the call comes in and displays the calling party number but does not show the name of the calling party.

Reuser do you mean ICF and not IFC?

If you know the d-channel number, do this:

LD 22
REQ: PRT
TYPE: ADAN DCH x (x = d-channel number)

Look for IFC and determine what it is set to. Then look at RCAP and see what entries are behind it. You might want to post this information in this thread.

Here is what I found when printing load 22.

Where am I to look to see if incoming name display is allowed by calls coming in?

No, as REUSSER says above, add NDS. NDS is for name display from the CO. ND2 is for name display between Meridian switches.

telebub, that was an S, backwards! good catch

Is it load 16 I make the changes in?

Thank you all for everything so far.

No, you will need to go to loads 96 and 17. First you disable the d-channel in LD 96, then make the RCAP change in LD 17 using the ADAN gate opener. Then re-enable the d-channel in LD 96.

Telebub.

So there is no way just to go into ld 17 and do a chg adan dch without having to disable the link to make the change needed?

I just thought it would be a simple change and no need to take the channel down first.

;~)

Unfortunately, no. The system will give you an error if you try to change the d-channel without disabling it 1st. You will need to obtain a small maintenance window to make the change. Based on your programming speed, it will only take a minute or 2.
