in I.E. my buttons need 2 clicks before they do anything

I have use the same navigation for years with no problem. But with the latest Internet Explorer the buttons need 2 clicks to work. the first click seems to be giving that portion of the site "focus" and the second click anywhere within the navagation works. It is fine in firefox, it just is not working in IE. any help would be appreciated. My site is
