I have very unusual situation that I need help with.
We have a few IMR reports that we save as Excel with Format and then e-mail to several people who do not have acces to the Cognos tools. We are trying to automate this process by using Cognos Script...which works fine as far as running the report and doing the "SAVE AS"

THE PROBLEM:
In Impromptu Client, when I veiw the IMR results, even in PRINT PREVIEW mode, it appears as ONE PAGE (about 40 lines)
When I "SAVE AS PDF" the PDF file is ONE page.
When I "SAVE AS EXCEL", it page breaks at the bottom -- the 2-3 totals rows come out on a second page.
I need the EXCEL version to render as FIT TO ONE PAGE.

MY QUESTION:
Is there any way, whether in IMPROMPTU or EXCEL, that I can attach a template or automatic macro to the Excel file that gets generated so that the people recieving the e_mail will see ONE PAGE when they open it?

Donafran,
The way I tackle this is to automate Excel with the same cognos macro script that generates the report; that is to say that after the report is saved as Excel, the macro opens the report in excel, performs further formatting and then resaves the report. Do a forum search for Excel and Format for the script format and then with the report open in excel, record a macro as you adjust it to fit to a page so that you can find the excel commands required from the macro.
