I have QuarkXpress 6.1 for Windows. Occasionally I run into a pdf that will not import into Quark. Quarks "Get Picture/pdf" section is greyed out and has "unrecognized version" in the background. Has anyone run into this problem and if so, why is it doing it. I can open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat 6 and there is nothing in the document properties that would indicate it is not useable or it can not be altered.

Thanks
Lauri

Try dumbing down the PDF: Open in Acrobat 6 and choose 'reduce file size' from the File menu. Save for Acrobat version 4. Try to place in Quark.
