Hi

I need to to put 7 users onto an Exchange 2003 server who have been using pop accounts in Outlook.

What's the easiest way to import their pst files into Exchange 2003?

I;ve been looking at exmerge but not sure if it's going to do what I want?

Any help would be appreciated!

You would create the XC2003 account. Set up the profile within Outlook then attach the PST to that profile.

If they felt like it they could then copy items from the PST to the mailbox.

Just one word on the use of ExMerge which I agree is the best course of action. Exmerge does not support importing of Unicode PST files which are the default in Outlook 2003. If your users are using Outlook 2003 and did not select to create a PST compatible with previous versions of Outlook then you will not be able to use ExMerge as Unicode is the default format for Outlook 2003.

If your users PST files were created in a previous version and were upgraded you should be fine.

In the event that your PST files are unicode, simply connect the users email profile over to the Echange server and use Outlook to open the PST. You can then drag email from the PST to the Exchange Server.

For detailed information on the subject take a look here:

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thanks Mark, I am 99% positive they are Unicode... I am going to get a Exchange server setup in a test environment and start playing before I role out....

do you know of an easier process to import a Outlook 2003 Unicode PST file into a Exchange Server 2003 mailbox without performing the "Manual import" process?

I would like to save a little time, if possible.

WOW!!! their products are a little pricy.. I think I'll spend the time and let the $1500 go into my pocket instead.

thanks everyone for your assistance.
