hi all,

there's a few paragraphs of text in a word document which i'd like imported in to an excel spreadsheet.

is this possible and can it be done? (i have to do this on a regular basis for a number of times so manually doing it would take forever!)

any ideas/suggestions would be most welcome!

thank you!

Can you give some more information re:

Does the text in the paragraphs change? If not then why can't you hard code the text into a macro that would insert the text into the highlighted cell.

Are the paragraphs always the same ones being copied?

Are they always in the same place in the document. ie; is the word document amended/changed so that the position of the paragraphs are moved.

With a bit more info we should be able to get you sorted.

Cheers,

Matt

hello :)

the paragraphs change like once in a blue moon so i wanna code it so that it accomodates for that. (the file name will stay the same though.. thank god).

as far as i know i don't think the order of the paragraphs get changed around much... maybe a new line here or the wording of that changed slightly... that's it.

thanks

Hi eHanSolo,

You could try copying the portion of the Word document that you're after and using Edit|Paste Special & 'Paste Link' in Excel to insert the data in any of a range of formats. That way, if the linked data in your Word file changes, the Excel file will update too. No vba needed.

Cheers

cheers!
