I am trying to set-up an import via ODBC nightly. The tables are large and linking is not practical. Therefore I would like to import a table nightly into access. I assume that this table should overwrite/delete other tables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What I would do is create tables in MS Access with the same datastructure as your source tables. Then you can use SQL to fill the new tables from the source tables. Now, every 24 hours you should run an SQL-script (you might consider using a Timer mechanism for this, off course you can also consider creating a refresh button and activating the SQL script from the click event)that deletes the content of your local tables, and updates it with the content of your source tables. You should create linked tables using ODBC, otherwise it would not work, but the links are only activated every 24 hours (if you use a timer), so the disadvantage you mentioned is not important here.
