Import into Global Address Book

I'm trying to import email records into the Global Address Book of an Exchange Server.

Currently all contacts are stored locally within Outlook on each network PC. I am able to export these to a file in various formats. What I need to do is import these files into the Global Address Book on the server.

I'm not sure how to do this, can anyone help?

You cannot, the Gobal address book contains only address of YOUR server, not personal ones. _{If the answer is here, Mark it, others can benefit from it too. If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

So, you can't import contacts into the Global Address Book on the server at all, they need to be created from scratch?

No, the Global Address book wil ONLY contain addresses that exist as a mailbox or other on your Exc. Server. You CANNOT add just any address in there, it is not a PERSONAL distribution list!!!

There is a kind-of work around, probably worth while only if there is a large number of contacts.

The following might help

thread858-498274 a combination of exporting the personal address list to a csv, slightly amending the data then using the above you should be able to do what your trying to achieve.
