Import contacts and Routing

I have imported (using CSVDE.exe) over 500 contacts into AD U&C and have them showing up in the GAL, as I hoped. Now then, when I select a contact through the GAL in Outlook and try and send an email I get a NDR. If I delete the contact and then manually create the same contact so they show up in the GAL and select that contact to send an email it gets delivered!!

I really don't understand where it's going wrong. Help and advice would be appreciated.
