I am trying to write a batch file that automatically imports a tab delimited file into a Access Database table. I wrote a macro to do the import, but I do not know how to run it from the batch. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Batch file? You could rename your macro to autoexec and then every time the MDB is opened, it would import it, but I don't think this is what you are after...

Please explain a little more... Terry M. Hoey

Thanks for your quick response. Anyway, what I am attempting to do is run the batch file to activate an Oracle querying application that automatically downloads daily reports to my local machine. From there I have the batch open Access on the Network and import the files that were downloaded earlier. The import part is where I am having a difficult time with. Thanks Again.

I know it requires a couple more steps then what you are asking, but why not have a form with a couple of buttons. You would start up Access, click on the first button to run the export from Oracle and then click on the second one to import the files (see TransferText function).

Of course, there is the other option of linking the Oracle tables using an ODBC connection and then just running a query to SELECT the Oracle records into your Access tables... Terry M. Hoey
