import AI format into 3d studio max r3

Can anybody help me in my trouble?
I can't succede in importing AI format files (created by Freehand 9) into 3D studio max r3.
Please, answer me!

Just chose import and choose your AI file and select Single Object or Multiple Objects

If you are tring to import something other then curves and paths you can't do it (eg fills, gradients and filter effects will not be imported)

and you can not import text unless it has been converted to outlines 1st I Em Not A God
