IP500 with 4.2(17) - I have a HG with queuing on, and announcements. When a call comes into the HG via call route, the caller hears the queued announcement immediately while the call is being presented to an agent, usually a snippet worth of the announcement. I have tested with 5.0 (8), caller hears ringing unless the call is not answered within the 1st announcement time, then queued announcement.

In the HG, normalized queue length is on, vm off, assign call on agent answer is set.

I have seen another post where this was happening to someone with 4.0.x., but no resolution.

Any thoughts.....other than upgrade?

I am not sure if this will hep you - but this is how I have it configured. In Annoucments I have "Wait before first ring" set to 0, when I had that set higher there was a ring sound played to my clients. As for the huntgroup itself I have my "Ring Mode" set to Collective Call Waiting - not sure if that has any affect, but it may. this way my callers never hear a ring - just MoH and then an agent.

I do not understand the problem
Do you want it to ring first or do you want to have the announcement straight away ?
If the first then set the timer higher and if the second set it to 0 or 1

The problem is I want the caller to hear ringing, not the announcement. The first timer is set to 15 sec., so I should hear roughly 3 rings before the queue message. I'm guessing a reboot is in order.

Thanks anyway!

Then turn of the announcements :)
Then you will hear ringing until some one picks up the phone

tlpeter - nice strong arm the system into ringing - LOL - but the poster was asking for ring until the Queue annoucment plays, i think.

It does ring untill the announce by default :)
After the announce you can choose for moh ringing or silence
So or i miss simething or the topic starter did not see that option :)

Todefeo, you are correct. I want what the system is supposed to do, the caller should hear ringing until the call is answered or until the Queued message is played after the 1st announcement delay. I didn't post back as we were starting to state the obvious in the threads.

If you set the first announcement at 30 seconds then the caller will hear ringing for 30 seconds
That easy it is

But if it goes through a voicemail pro module first then it is very likely that there is a greeting in there !

Did you reboot yet - sorry I am running 5.0, but I am pretty sure the 4 series reacted the same. Do you have sync calls enabled - if so try to disable it and see what happens.

true tlpeter - samorse, do you have any special propgramming in VM-Pro for "queued

tomdefeo, I do, but nothing special. I have queued and still queued. A start point going to a Generic. Tlpeter, If I have it set for 15 seconds, it should ring for 15 seconds before playing the queued message, but it is not. I understand how to set this up, my point is that it is not working correctly. As I initially stated, this works fine under 5.0!

I have made several system on 4.2.17 and it always worked as it should be !
But if an upgrade solves it then do it :)
