I installed iMesh once morpheus went down (I've since discovered KaZaa), and it causes explorer.exe to shutdown and restart--just the process, it doesn't restart Windows. It usually crashes as soon as I try to use the keyboard for input. I'm not using any special keyboard with fancy drivers. In fact, it's a Microsoft keyboard.

I've uninstalled iMesh and the ads support, but it still happens. My temporary fix for an internet explorer was at first Netscape, but the I discovered Opera. It's great, by the way. It has a feature where you can eliminate pop-up windows.

If anyone has any advice on how to get explorer running normally again, I'd appreciate it.

If already upgraded to IE 6 you can go to add remove programs in control. In there click on IE 6 click remove then it will give you the option to repair or remove. You can repair it or if you remove it will downgrade back to your previous verison of IE. Then you upgrade it again.

I too have the same problem. Anytime I hit any key in the keyboard without being in a kazaa window. I believe it is a part of the spyware in kazza. Cydoor or another spyware product (i can't remeber which) is installed with kazaa. Doing research I have found it replaces the explorer.exe with it's own version so it can track where you go. Doesn't work too well if all it does is kill explorer each time you type something. I had Kazaa working a little while without issues, but just recently it started again. I can't seem to get it to stop. If you get any help with this, let me know.

If it is spywhere you get software to detect it and delete it. Just do a few searchs for it.

Try looking event viewer and/or scan the computer for viruses. MAybe you intalled Imesh with one of them and corrupted Explorer. A+, MCP, CCNA

Keep fighting for your knowledge!

Well, if it replaces explorer, I think it will be hard to find support. Sounds to me they are going to far.

I'm running Windows XP at home, and I have the same exact problem being described: when Kazaa is running, I can't use my keyboard at all in a non-kazaa window. I can't even rename an icon on my desktop or anything. I have no idea how or why this is happening....if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

Thanks.

I've been using IMESH for awhile now and have had the same problem in both Win2000 Pro and WinXP Pro. It's been happening since IMESH 2.something so I would think that they know about it and are working on it... however it persists. IMESH is Spyware free though, so no need to worry about that. Runs great - very fast. Too bad they haven't resolved that bug yet.
