My users open TIF and TIFF files with the Imaging that comes with Windows. It works very well but I'm wondering if it generates a copy of the file into the temporary files.
And, if it does, what happens when a second image is opened? Does it create a second temporary file or does it overwrite the first?

Curious!

I assume you're storing the TIF/TIFF files in Access OLE/Memo fields. So yes, it creates a temp file, and no, the temp file doesn't stick around after you're done with the file.

But I'm making some assumptions--the above isn't necessarily true if you're not storing the TIF files in Access tables using OLE.

No. We aren't directly it to an Access file. It is going to the C: drive. I am also assuming that it is supposed to delete the file when closed. But, what happens if you don't close the file and then open another file on top of it?

What is supposed to delete the file? How are you opening the file?

No program deletes a file, so that would have to be something done on your part that deletes the file.

I don't even know what you're asking, honestly. You need to view TIF files, but you want them stored temporarily on the C drive. But you aren't sure they're being deleted. So test it and find out how it's being deleted?

Again, I'm not sure what the question is.
