I'm trying to load Kazaa 2.5 but wh 4

I'm trying to load Kazaa 2.5 but when I load it to the hard drive and extract. The installer says there has been an error encountered and it won't go any more, and that happens at the start. I have windows 98SE I did buy the shirt so I'm not stealing the music. I've had the old Kazaa for a while.I have 6 gig hard drive 191 mb ram. I had the older Kazaa working any suggestions?

Might be worth updating your Windows installer. I've had problems on NT where the installation just fails for no apparent reason, but it ended up being down to the installer.

If that doesn't work, try downloading the software again - maybe the file is corrupt somehow?

I tried the installer and it didn't work. The installer starts then it says waiting " an error was encountered" I think it could be a bad file. I have seen bad reports on this file whaT a bummer. I don't have a good one, the old one they took off the internet and I need it by Saturday Night! My aunt is a D.J.

You know you need to download it again. Just do it, but use this version of Kazaa instead.

Try installing Kazaa Lite instead its a hell of a lot better than Kazaa.

It gives you a participation level of a 1000 automatically and has many other features.

Jim,

Basically Kazza uses a particaption level ranging from 1 to 1000(highest). The higher your level the more priority is given to you for downloading files. A file being downloaded by a user with 200 level will be shunted back by a user with a higher level. By using kazaa lite your level remains at 1000 constantly.

With kazaa the more files you have uploaded off your system the higher the level you receive. Visit kazaa website for more info.

My aunt Ellen gave me wrong information. She got Kazaa confused with Morpheus, the shirt came from Morpheus. That was Morpheus's way of getting you to pay a membership fee, by buying a shirt. She still is intrested in fixing Kazaa. I will be there tomorrow and hopefully not all day. I will download the Kazaalite thanx Michael.

Just so you know, any "membership fee" you pay for a file-sharing program doesn't mean the apps, movies, music, or games you download are paid for. If you download any copyrighted material (especially of something you do not own), you need to have permission from the owner. Otherwise, it is illegal.

Thank you for that clarification. Now I feel bad for the owners of the songs, until I remember how much they would charge me for a cd!
To keep you updated on my dilema of Kazaa I did download Kazaalite 3 times with no success. I decided I might change from 2.4 to 2.1 and that did the trick! It kept on saying 2.4 was corrupt please download again. On cable that's not an issue but where I was I had dialup. I downloaded 2.1 the 1st time and it worked. I have to say we couldn't have cut it any closer the party she needs the music for is on Sunday 7/20 and I finished the night of the 19th. You people are great I can't thank you enough.
