Can anyone give me any ideas as to a few good ones that are newer than the socket A since they are going to be obsolete real soon. I'm thinking maybe around $100.00 or less for one?

$100 for the motherboard, then you need the CPU and fan, then memory. Now you probably need a PSU and why not a case while you are at it. I'd wait until what you have will no longer do what you need then get an entire system.

Franklin is right. When you get a new system, get the latest and greatest mobo you can afford, because everything else that plugs into a mobo can be taken off and upgraded fairly easily later on. So in getting a new mobo, it should be for a whole new system.
