...it is possible to create a ribbon with the 3D function in illustrator and then map a bitmap symbol to your surfaces...
...your bitmap symbol will need to be a complete flat montage, you will need one for both front and back, these i would created in photoshop...
...i believe it would be slightly easier in a dedicated 3D program however if you have access to one...
...even so, there isn't really a one magical button to create it well...
