I backup the IIS metabase every night using a modified version of the Microsoft script.
We have had to rebuild an IIS5 server from our system backups and all websites have been migrated during a test phase. These seem to be OK.
The live IIS box has had IIS changes (extra web sites and FTP site) since the original test restoration. I do not want to retore the OS Disk again because of the differences in Hardware.
Are these changes stored in the Metabase and can I restore the metabase onto the new IIS server......The new server will have the same name, IPs etc.....The only difference will be the hardware.
