Hi All,

I am having a problem that I am not sure how to solve. My IIS4 service is stopping periodically. I am getting "W3SVC" errors in my application log but I do not know what they mean. The (along with others) are stopped, when I try to start them I get a WINSOCK error. I am not running any .asp scripts. I am running Perl on Windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Have you managed to solve this problem? We are getting the same error. We are running Java not Perl. If you have a solution please let us know. We have the latest hot fixes and SP on the servers but both get the same Winsock errors.

Best regards

Si.

Si,

I downloaded all of the Service Packs but was getting nowhere. I found out that we had a virus that our virus software was not detecting. Once I updated my virus software and got rid of the virus, I went to Microsoft and downloaded a security patch. Even though I had downloaded the security patch first, the virus was already on my machine.

Hope this helps,

Brandon
