I Installed IIS on an XPpro machine. In 2000 pro I could just type the computer name and could get the default start page. (doing this for a company homegrown program). With XP pro I get the msn search page. Is there anyway I can specify to look to the local computer first?

Thanks
Jerry

Sounds like you might have a couple of problems. First, you need to specify a default document in your IIS default website for that machine. Although, it should automatically use index or default.

It also sounds like you might have a dns issue on your local network. Some how your browser does not know your web machine exists, or how to find this machine/website.

Check your IP settings, your network DNS config, and you might also check your local host.ini file for anything squirlly.
