Hello:

We have a windows 200 server on which iplanet is running on port 80. i.e shows iplanet page. I am planning to install IIS on the same machine and I believe IIS defaults to port 80. Can someone tell how to change IIS to any other port number? Are there any steps? Also, is there a file on windows system which shows the ipaddresses, ports and applications associated to it? Thanks in advance

IIS wont start a site if the port/IP combination is in use.

you can then go in the site proporties and set another port or IP and then start the site.

Thanks.

I changed the tcp/ip port to 81. gives a page error. It doesn't show anything. I've no clue if the port change is successful. I restarted the service. Still won't work. Any help?

hmm hard to tell with the limited info.

check:

1. hostnames in use on the iis,
will only be shown if a site has the hostname localhost assigned or no hosname and all unassigned ip. you can check by setting a hostname in the "hosts" file (use search) add an entry like 127.0.0.1 <TAB> testand then add the hostname test to the site you wish to open.(or anything under that e.g. 2. check that the default page actually exists and is the page you want to open.
3. check ntfs on the homefolder for the site.

and of course add the :81 in the browser as needed as you point out.

hope that helps
