I've "inherited" an IIS web server at work (Windows 2000 Server). The person who set it up isn't helping so I'm looking elsewhere. I have a bunch of questions so please help me with whatever you can. I know mostly how DNS works, I just don't know how to do it properly in IIS.
General Questions/Info
- How can I get the version of IIS?
- Are there any security concerns I should be looking at for this version?
- I need a robust but inexpensive stats program, preferably free, that is fairly easy to use. I can learn more complex ones if I have to though.
- I have a name server setup (ns1.myserver.com) already.
DNS
This server is using:
Microsoft Management Console 1.2
Version 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 4)
I've been able to add a number of new domains to the DNS and get them hitting and displaying pages. I keep running into various problems with the email and the only way I can fix the errors is to put in the server's IP address as the incoming mail server (for any email user). This even happens with domains that were there before I started adding domains.
I will be moving a number of domains over to this server and I want to be able to put mail.example.com as the incoming mail server for each user's domain (that's how they're setup now). Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this email working properly?
Thanks
