Hi,

I had installed Windows XP Professional. I went to IIS console and I realise that I have a computer defined but with nothing else underit...(don´t have default web page folder and stuff like that) it doens´t have status too! I try to make a connect but it doesn´t work.

Any ideias?!?!

Thank you!

I agree with "IIS acting strangely" <-- might i add "now and then" :-)

The best and fastest way, @ least for me, is not to trouble shoot it but to reinstall it. U can do this since u've just started.

If it fails again then we'll try and troubleshoot it.

Good luck.

ok, I did that!

Now I have a Default FTP directory! :) However I didn´t get a default web site directory! So, I start clicking inside it lol Then I realise that I would need to specify a default application to my default web directory...it´s strange I think. I just wrote Defaut Web site and it seems IIS found the information it needed.

Despite it is "working" I don´t have, for instance, any error number/files in the custom errors tab. I can´t even put there some entries. Then , the log doesn´t work also. Everytime I got to the porperties I get a messsage tell me that. What is wrong with XP? lol It seems that the only thing that it works is the new design of the windows lol (well I took it off because it make my system slow).

Well at least I think I will be able to work in this manner. We will see.

Thank you!

If i remember correctly, it is possible to not install certain components such as the "FTP" service. Try reinstalling it and make sure all the components are ticked.
