Frontpage Error?

From the browser, I have an html feedback web page that’s is giving me a Frontpage error when I click on the submit button. I checked the NT log and it’s event ID 1000 stating “Cannot open file service.lck for writing and the second message is Permission Denied. I have checked the Microsoft KB and permissions but cannot resolve this problem. The server is currently running Frontpage 2000 extension. It was working before and I don’t know what changed. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've had this problem several times.

I'll try a quick walkthrough (You may have already tried this):

"Computer Management"
"Services and Applications"
"Internet Information Services"
"Default Web Site"
"My web folder" ----->>> "Properties"

If there is no "Application Name" select "Create"

Then "Shortcut Menu" (Right Click)
"All Tasks" ----->>> "Check Server Extensions"

I seem to recall having this problem only when I was publishing locally.

FP Extensions need to be installed in the virtual directory and if they aren't, you can simply "Create" an "Application Name" but you still have to check the extensions I believe.

Please let me know if you continue to get the error. I'll see if I can help.

Thanks for the info. I was able to track down the service.lck file and deleted. It is working now.
