iis blowup complaining about web.config

I am getting this error after I renamed an aspx file in a VS .net project

Server Error in '/CanadaVC' Application.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

it occurs no matter what page I load on the localhost

A better solution might be to delete the file

<Your project>/_vti_cnf/Web.Config

which is the infamous one containing the lines you posted, and which breaks the VS compiling.

I think this is one of the numerous bugs this VS 2005 beta 2 has.
