Having problems getting things like e-mail submission forms, discussion webs and so forth working.

I get the following message: -

[tt]FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page.[/tt]

However, Front Page server extensions are installed. Can anyone help?

Cheers

Tony

FPSE work on Win2K Server, but not Win2K Pro. What OS are you running?

There are workarounds for Win2K Pro. Newposter

I am using both server and pro. If FPSE don't work on pro, fair enough, but I can't get them to work on server either. I have been trying to implement e-mail feedback forms and database submission forms using FPSE on win2000 server, and can't get either to work though for different reasons. I get the above message with e-mail and discussion web submission forms.

I also have a problem setting up a form to send to database - it cannot connect to odbc databases for some reason, though it has no problem with an access database generated from front page. As a workaround I got it to send results to a fp generated access db and then set this up as an odbc source...

Go to IIS, Right click yourwebsite.com, All Tasks, try to Remove Server Extension, and Configure it again.

Let me know how it goes. It's not about whether you can do it or not, it's about HOW

Try right clicking the website in IIS server manager, go to All Tasks, Recalculate Web. An error like this shows up if you use forms or webbots in a disk based web or publish your modified files using ftp or direct file copy to server. On pages without forms or webbots it isn't a problem, but any time you make changes to pages with these objects without actually publishing them using frontpage, you will have to recalculate the web.
