Hi,

I have a form that has several unbound combo boxes on it, the values from the combo boxes are transfered to a query that is run when a report is actvated.

Everything works okay when all of the combo boxes have a selection made in them, however I need the query to only take the completed combo box values.

The question is how do I get the query to only run with the combo boxes that have a value in them as every combo box will not necessarily need to be completed.

I am sure this question has been answered before but the search function seems to be down on the forum at the moment.

TIA

Thanks for the reply.

The example database dosen't cover what I am looking for I'm afraid.

All I need is for the query to only use the criteria from the combo boxes that have values in them and to consider any combo boxes that have no value selected as being set as all.

I have 10 combo boxes and maybe only 5 will have values in them at any one time but I need all possible 10 items from the data to be displayed in the report output.

For example if Combo box1 has 'Building' selected, Comb box2 is blank (but has options for North, South,East, West), Combo box3 has 'Metal' selected then the result should show Buildings, for all areas, Metal.

My SQL is not up to much so I am probably going to be banging my head off the wall with this for sometime.

Cheers
