Since upgrading the latest IE7, some images on website pages do not display. I've searched microsoft but as usual, there is a load of wishy washy answers but nothing direct.

Any suggestions guys?

Do you have an example site that exhibits this behavior? Have you checked throught IE's privacy settings? What additional anti-spyware tools do you have installed?

Hi smah

Try (Graphic in the centre is missing)

With regard to IE's privacy settings, they are set to medium

Anti spyware installed AVG and the usual Windows defender

That is a placeholder, not a graphic item.

It means that the URL for that image was incorrectly specified by the page designer. IE could not find the image at the URL, or the URL is missing a key element such as the image extension -- e.g. banner instead of banner.jpg

Hi bcastner

Well that's strange because prior to the upgrade of IE7 the image was viewable and nothing has been changed on that website (we knwo that because its one of ours)

When I type in to IE6 this URL it returns the following error.

Error 404: NOT FOUND!
Your browser cannot find the document corresponding to the URL you types in.

When I type in
Error 403: Forbidden!
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. (And an image of a one finger salute).

Sorry, try this link:
and see what you think then (It's the graphic in the middle)

"(And an image of a one finger salute)"

I think that's the German server host's sense of humour (I don't find it funny either!)

Interestingly the new URL has the blank placeholder too, this time clicking on brings up the desired image.

Also interestingly when I right-click on the blank placeholder ans select for Internet Download Manager to download the image it does so successfully.

Right-clicking on the place holder and selecting show picture does nothing.

Don't know what it all means though, sorry.

I assume you mean for "keepingbusy" to edit the source?

Sure, whoever.

But I like the girl better than the image that keepingbusy suggested we would see.

.

... but what about the problem why the image doesn't show!

Ok, we'll have to take a look at that then!

Thank you....

When the domain name was changed recently the path to the image wasn't.

She looks so much better in the middle wouldn't you agree!

Thank you guys...

I wouldn't use her hairdresser, mind you with the amount of hair I have left I don't really have to worry about that type of problem.

Glad you were able to get it sorted. A special thanks to Bill, once more.

linney (have to laugh 'aye?)

I trust Bill is bcastner? If so, thank you Bill!
