One of our guys installed IE7 through Windows Update on his HP 6230 Notebook and it cranks the cpu usage when opened. I used Firefox to download the actual file (instead of WU) then uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. Thankfully uninstalling 7 through Add/Remove Programs brings 6 back up. Curious if anyone has run into this, we'll probably just try again in a month or two and see if the bug is in the IE7 download.

Yes, I too have a user who complains of this, and also the machine takes a good 10 minutes to boot to desktop. Can't see any add-ons, and machine appears to be clean. Uninstalled, and reverted back to IE6 and all is well again, and machine nice and quick now.
