I was wondering how to remove toolbars that have appeared in IE. I webpage hijacked my home page and also added a toolbar -i changed the home page back but I can't remove the toolbar other than unchecking it so that it doesn't show. Is there a simple way to do this? btw it calls itself frthllyprzt. Thankyou

I like BHODemon for shutting down the pests, but it won't help you to remove them...

Thanx guys, but SpyBot didn't work, it did find a lot of stuff though. One thing there was a lot of was called Backweb this wouldn't have anything to do with my problem would it? -It didn't want to remove it and Spy Sweeped had found it and told me it was used for legitimate purposes. Should I try BHODemon? Cheers

Go for it...BHODemon is a fine product. It simply doesn't facilitate removal or unwanted "Browser Helper Objects," rather it allows the user to disabel them after the program identifies them.

Thanx, this has been really helpful but what I actually did while trying to reverse those registry steps was I found the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar and it contained a data value which had the name of the rogue toolbar as the value so I deleted this and now all is well. Thanx

A search engine called startium has placed itself on my browser and for days I have tried to remove it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
