I am having a problem with a computer that had AOL 6.0 installed. Everything was working fine. The user installed a new modem, and things continued to work fine. One day browsing capabilities from AOL stopped working. The user uninstalled AOL, and tried to reinstall.
Now, every time he reinstalls, the installation fails at 98% which is during the IE4 installation. The AOL apps work fine, but the browser will not install.
He is receiving two dll errors, one stating that loadwc.exe failed to link with shlwapi.dll, and the other is inetcfg.dll.
This appears to be an IE problem. Does anyone know why IE4 will not install? We tried to install from the IE4 CD and it fails.
