I have a ME computer running IE 6. TCP/IP works fine, I have an IP,DNS and I can ping the router. No matter what I do I cant get IE to retrieve any pages. Whats worse is that when I conect to AOL through a dial-up, AOL works fine but I cant surf the web through AOL either...

I tried reconfiguring all IE settings and ME Network settings, no matter what I do I cant get the internet..

Any ideas.. I tried everything

although you may have an IP, dns and can ping the router , this is all internal LAN - to test your internet connection, try pinging google.com (or google's IP: 216.239.53.100).

to pinpoint a network failure, try "tracert google.com" (pings everything along the path between you and google).

alternatively, check your router's status pages to see the WAN status.

also, try another browser - netscape / mozilla / opera. AOL uses IE as it's browser so there may be an IE issue.
