IE window size at startup/open new window

Is there a way to control how IE opens and sizes a new window whether it be at startup or from a clicked on link? I keep getting a new window opening up with dimensions of about 2 inches wide by 4 inches long? Anyone know how I can fix this?

Generally if you close all but one IE window, then make that the size you want and then close it, new windows wiill open at that size (but as you probably know, some websites resize your window - and set that as default, so you have to go through resizing again if that happens. this is probably what's happened to you).

There may be a way of preventing this - but I don't know it.
