Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem with installing the getting the IE Web Controls to run. I've downloaded the installer and executed it. It created a folder C:\Program Files\IE Web Controls. I then built the file Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.dll using the batch file (build.bat) that was in the ...\IE Web Controls directory. I then manually added the DLL and the associated controls to my VS.NET toolbox toolbar. But when I compile my project with the embedded ctrls, nothing happens. It get rendered as plain text.

Did I get miss something in the installation process?

Open the IIS console and look for a directory called webctrl_client - by default it installs on Default Web Site. You should have this virtual directory on your active site.

LV,

I do not see this virtual directory when I open the IIS MMC. It seems that there are various documents out there. I've read a few versions and they all seem to refer to this folder. Yet I haven't seen it anywhere on my system.

It's normaly created when you run the msi and contains the files needed for the controls to paint and function. I can email it to you if you want.

Can you please? That would be great. I did not install an MSI either. The setup program was an EXE.

Please email it to yu217171@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.
