Hi there,

I'm setting up a new Win2K Server and need to be able to use the Internet Browser on the server to buy and download some virus software. But IE v6 isn't working.

The machine is a co-located webpage server at XO, so I Remote Desktop into it.

I've started all the services that look remotely appropriate, and still no go...

Any ideas??

Thanks much in advance!

Eric

What does not working mean?? Do you get any error message when starting IE?

I'm trying to use a browswer (IE v6 or FoxFire) on the server to access Symantec's store so I can purchase and download Anti-virus software. I can view pages on the site until I click on the "Buy Now" button-- then I get the message "The operation timed out while attempting to contact symantecstore.com".

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Do you have the free Macromedia Flash Player installed? You need to have this to display the buy now page on Symantec's web site.

If you can access other web sites ok it may just be a problem with the Symantec website.
