Every now & then when I pick a link, especially when attemting to download files, I get the following message:
"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". This is annoying and frustrating. Any tips?

Thanks.

Hey Linney.

Thanks for the tips. I tried all you suggested but no luck. I'll keep looking into this as time goes by.
FYI: IE 6.02, XP SP2

Thanks again.

This works for IE6 so it might be worth a try.

Internet Explorer Fix

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

Are you using a Download Manager program?

Ready, steady, GO! IE7 has been released

Hey Linney.

Had time between projects to look into this further. I tried your suggestions, short of re-installing IE, with no luck. I found some info and changed over to Mozilla and, presto!!!, no more problems. I also found out that others out there are having the same problems. I appreciate all your help and tips....keep up the great advise!!!

Thanks again
