Hi to all. I've a curious problem with my IE installed on my win 98 system. When I try to open some link, from my favorites o from the menu "open in a new window", IE tell me that the page doesn't exist (or it open it without the images), but it is false!! Because when I retry to access the page, from the go button, IE open it!! So if I wont navigate I must try to access two times to the same page. I think is a system problem because I've installed IE 4, IE 5.0, IE 5.5 and IE 6.0, I've used ieradicator to erase IE from my system, I've used the autorepair of IE and finally I've reinstalled win 98 over teh old system, but the problem remain. Moreover I've the same problem with Netscape. SOMEONE CAN HELP ME!!! I don't know if it's important: the win 98 is installed on an AMD 1Ghz and my connection is an ADSL with the alchatel speed touch usb modem. Sorry for my bad english & thanks all in advance

Fab,

I have seen this problem before, and in fact it will occur on any browser you install.. The reason is because the error is in the registry, and not in the installation files for the software. Unfortunately, time and experience has shown that there appears to be little technical support relating to that registry, and if you possibly can, I advise format and reinstall the lot. If not, try clearing the browser cache files. In windows 9x this is achieved by going to internet settings in control panel and deleting temporary internet files (incidentally when you hit delete it will ask about offline files - CHECK THE BOX ) also clear history and any reference specific to cache.

Thanks for your help CSUKNic. I've formatted the disk and I've installed XP. Great!! Improuve my internet speed and connection without a problem. Thaks,
Fab
